The county treasurer's office is responsible for the tax billing, collection and distribution of tax money for the state, county, cities and all other taxing entities that levy Ad Valorem (Property) and/or special assessment taxes. The treasurer is also responsible for all other moneys belonging to Elk County and/or directed by law to be paid to the treasurer. In addition, the treasurer serves as an agent for the State Department of Revenue, Division of Motor Vehicles for the administration of vehicle titles and registrations. The Treasurer's office is also responsible for issuing driver's licenses.

- Issue driver's license or instructional permits for those completing drivers education
