The Elk County Clerk is a member of the Kansas County Clerks Association.

Below is an overview of some of the clerk services:
  • Payroll, accounts payable, financial reports, maintain tax accounts
  • Audit all budgets, compute tax levies, provide budget assistance to Townships, Cities and Special Districts
  • Prepare real estate, person property, State assesed, in Lieu of Tax and special assessment tax rolls     
  • Balance & distribute Motor Vehicle tax and track hearing appeals 
  • Official secretary to the board of county commissioners, the keeper of official records, maintain inventory and fixed assets
  • Maintain tax unit maps and assist with special districts creation
  • Service to the public and Homestead preparation for the elderly
  • Issue permits & licenses

In addition to these duties, the Clerk serves as the County Election Officer and is responsible for the overall supervision of the election process for Elk County.

KANSAS HUNTING & FISHING LICENSE SOLD HERE!!!

Buy your licenses & permits in the Clerks office during our normal business hours; Mon-Thurs, 7am to 530pm. 

Also available for your convenience is the fish & hunt regulations booklet as well as detailed maps including the local (WIHA) Walk-In hunt area & (FISH) access sites. 

All boat registrations, regardless of length, will be $42.50 and valid for 3 years.  Contact local KDWPT office to register boats at 620-672-5911.

KS Resident LifeTime license applications are available here, but must be submitted to the local office in Pratt, KS.  For more information go to on-line at KSOutdoor.com.
