The Register of Deeds preserves, maintains custody & safekeeping of all the books, records, deeds, maps and papers deposited or kept in the Office of the Register of Deeds. The Register also records or cause to be recorded all deeds, mortgages, maps, instruments and writings authorized by law to be recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds and performs other duties as required by law.
The Register of Deeds office is a recording agency and therefore cannot make out legal documents or answer questions which pertain to legal matters.

Copies of documents are generally $0.75 per page. Some special copies are slightly higher.
