Elk County Kansas

County Attorney

The Elk County Attorney is elected to represent the interests of the citizens of the County (and when requested by a judge, the State) in matters involving violations of the law.  The County Attorney is the prosecutor in matters before the court.

In Elk County, the Board of Commissioners has determined that it is expedient for the County to hire a private attorney to act as the County Counselor to provide legal advice & representation to the county officers in all general legal matters, relieving the County Attorney of these responsibilities.
