Elk County Clerk

The Elk County Clerk provides numerous services to the public and county government.  In addition to issuing hunting & fishing licenses, assisting citizens with homestead and food tax refunds and answering general questions, the Clerk's office performs various functions that the public seldom sees. From preparing meeting agendas and acting as the repository for official records of the County Commission to payroll & various Human Resource functions, the Clerk's office is a busy place.

In addition to these duties, the Clerk serves as the County Election Officer.  

In this capacity, the Clerk is responsible for most aspects of the election process from processing eligible voter registration applications, processing candidate filing papers, publishing notices of upcoming elections & preparing ballots for elections to organizing election poll workers & conducting election classes for poll workers.  The Clerk is responsible for the overall supervision of elections in Elk County.
